September Softball Fest to be held at Bracknell

Wed 7 Aug 2019

Bracknell Baseball and Softball Club will be hosting a September Softball Fest next month – three fast-paced and energetic softball evenings inspired by Softball60 and supported by BaseballSoftballUK.

The Softball Fest will take place over three Thursday evenings -- 5, 12 and 19 September – starting at 6.30 pm at the club’s home ground, Westmorland Park, Warfield RG42 3QP.

Everyone welcome

All local teams are welcome to join in on the action, where teams made up of seven players will battle it out in a round-robin series, with the top two teams playing a final at the end of the evening on 19 September.

Both teams and individual players can register for one, two or all three evenings, and individuals will either be assigned to teams needing players, or combined to create new teams, depending on previous experience (newbies will not be left to fend for themselves!).

Teams can be made up of any ratio of male-to-female athletes, although the pitcher-catcher combination has to have one of each.

The evenings will consist of three game slots over a number of mini softball diamonds.  Modified rules, taken from Softball60, will ensure each evening is full of fun and competition.

Bracknell Baseball and Softball Club Coach Jessica Vernon, who is organising the Softball Fest, said, “It's going to be three great evenings with a festival vibe and lots of music and games.  We've had a lot of new athletes join Bracknell over the past month or so and I'm sure that this will be the perfect time to pick up a bat and give a 'real game' a go!”

To register a team or as an individual player please complete this form.

Individuals can register for a fee of £5, which will cover all three weeks of play, and a team can enter for £30, again covering three weeks of play.
