COVID-19 Update from BaseballSoftballUK - 3 June

Wed 3 Jun 2020

BaseballSoftballUK continues to closely follow the UK Government and Sport England’s advice on the lockdown and associated restrictions.

The Government’s statement on 28th May indicated that groups of up to six people are now allowed to meet outside in a responsible, socially distant manner. Considering this most recent advice, and in light with the guidance issued yesterday, BaseballSoftballUK will be re-opening Farnham Park Baseball and Softball Complex, and Home Plate Bar & Kitchen, on limited dates for one-on-one training and field hire starting on 13 June 2020, and every weekend following.

This decision respects our overriding objective of keeping staff, coaches, players and those in the wider baseball and softball community safe, while at the same time encouraging the return of baseball and softball in a responsible manner.

Those wishing to participate in training will be asked to follow strict social distancing guidelines as well as Government regulations regarding hygiene and must sign-up for training in advance. A list of guidelines is available here.

Registration is required for one-on-one training and will take place in two-hour intervals. The registration link is available here. The cost per session is £20, and payment is due at the time of registration in order to limit contact between players and staff.

Additionally, players can book out a field (which will include an infield + short outfield) in one-hour intervals, for training with up to five other people, for £20 per hour. Those who choose this option are required to follow social distancing and hygiene policies and will be responsible for their group. Players who would like to do so can register by contacting Samuel Haslam at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

The situation remains fluid and we are closely monitoring Government advice. Any changes, future dates, or further announcements will be made on BaseballSoftballUK’s website and social media.
