BaseballSoftballUK has two vacancies to join the team – a rarity with our staff. Both roles are vital to our objective of getting more people playing baseball and softball in more places across the United Kingdom, with the ability to help shape the two sports for years to come. This is an incredibly exciting time for both sports, with GB Softball achieving their best-ever world ranking, more players playing across the British Isles than at any other point, and new and exciting ways to both play and promote the games.
We’re looking for ambitious, motivate individuals who want to make an impact and hit the ground running, who are excited by a challenge, and who believe strongly that baseball and softball can thrive in the UK.
The roles
Head of Operations
The Head of Operations is one of three senior manager posts within the staff team at BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK). As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Operations will report directly to the CEO. The post will line manage a small staff team, consultants and third-party organisations providing services to the company. As the head of the Operations Department, the Head of Operations role is to develop, manage, direct and lead the business, finance, governance and communications activities of the company.

Development Manager
The Development Manager will initiate and manage baseball and softball development in accordance with BaseballSoftballUK’s national strategies and plans, with a particular focus on the Greater London area.

The specific duties involved in these roles are varied and are detailed in the individual job specifications.
An interest in baseball/softball is strongly preferred but direct playing experience is not essential.

About BaseballSoftballUK
BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) is the national development agency for baseball and softball in the United Kingdom. BSUK has provided services to the British Softball Federation (BSF) and the baseball community for more than 20 years, with the ambition of developing and increasing the levels of participation, skill and achievement of baseball and softball across the United Kingdom. Formed in 2000, BSUK employs 10 full-time staff, working towards the goal of making the sports stronger, safer, and more sustainable for future generations.
The Organisation
BaseballSoftballUK is a company limited by guarantee and governed by a Board. The organisation is headed by a Chief Executive Officer and has a 10-member-strong staff team split across Commercial, Operations and Development departments, with a multi-cultural background.
BSUK is also responsible for managing Farnham Park National Baseball & Softball Complex, its dedicated playing facility in Buckinghamshire, consisting of four multi-use fields which host everything from development events and local play to national and international competitions plus an associated clubhouse and catering operation. The facility is the only one of its kind in the UK.
