BSUK partners with local Dair House School in Buckinghamshire

BaseballSoftballUK and Dair House School are proud to announce a partnership to bring softball to more primary age school children in Buckinghamshire.
BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK), the national development agency for baseball and softball, operates the UK’s only national training facility at Farnham Park National Baseball & Softball Complex, located in Farnham Royal. As part of BSUK's commitment to grow participation for children within the local community, the development agency has partnered with Dair House School, a local primary school situated nearby.
Dair House School is a small, one-form entry independent primary school home to about 100 students that provides tailored education for each pupils' individual needs. This partnership sees Year 4 children (aged 8-9) use Farnham Park's purpose-built baseball and softball diamonds every week until the end of the summer term, with BSUK providing loaned playing equipment. Under the instruction of the school’s Head of PE, Bex Miall, the students will get an introduction to both baseball and softball as well as learning life skills rooted in sportsmanship, competition, and fair play.
Miss Miall, a longstanding softball player and team captain with the local Windsor & Maidenhead Softball League, commented, "The kids have missed out on so much over the last 16 months. Coming to Farnham Park to learn and play softball together really gives them an opportunity to learn and feel free once again, but most importantly, to have fun together and there’s nothing more uplifting than that. Dair House School is very excited and lucky to be able to forge a special partnership with BaseballSoftballUK, who provided us with this unique opportunity at their fantastic facility, in the heart of our local community - we can't thank them enough.”
Joëlle Watkins, Head of Commercial at BSUK, added, “We’re always looking for ways of partnering with the local community and introducing more people to the benefits of our sports. With the benefit of being able to work with Miss Miall, such a keen advocate for the sport, partnering with Dair House School made perfect sense!”
