University Conference will again be combined with the Coach Summit
Thu 17 Jan 2019
BaseballSoftballUK's fifth annual University Baseball & Softball Conference will again run alongside the BSUK Coach Summit on 26 January 2019 in Milton Keynes.
The University Baseball & Softball Conference will take place from 11.00am-5.00pm on the day. The conference will be free for students to attend and they will be able to complete the Drills for Beginners practical training course and attend several university-specific workshop discussions.
Combination
BSUK Development Manager Patrick Knock said, “We’re excited to be able to host the University Baseball & Softball Conference on the same day as the Coach Summit, which presents a great opportunity for students leading our sports at universities to gain a wealth of knowledge, insight and network with other key people. Our students will be able to learn a great deal from fellow students and share ideas and best practice, as well as enhance their coaching skills through undertaking the Drills for Coaches course in the afternoon.”
Growth
Baseball and softball have seen significant growth in the past seven years in the university sector through the work of BaseballSoftballUK, and partnerships have developed between university staff and student volunteers and local baseball/softball clubs that can provide coaching resource and an additional opportunity for students to play the sports.
The student volunteers who will attend the University Baseball & Softball Conference play a crucial role in growing the number of people playing at their institutions, which is why the conference is regarded as so important by BaseballSoftballUK.
