This brand-new role will involve working closely with the GB Women’s Fastpitch Senior Team and the GB Baseball Men’s Senior Team and be pivotal in preparing both teams to qualify for the 2028 LA Olympic Games.

The announcement today of the four new sports that are proposed for inclusion in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games signalled that baseball and softball will not be involved when the Paris Games roll around.

2016Joint-CEO John Boyd nominated for Little League International Board of Directors
BSUK’s Joint-CEO. John Boyd, was officially nominated for election as the Europe and Africa Representative to the Little League International Board of Directors as determined via an e-mail vote. Upon approval, Mr. Boyd, who has been involved with Little League for 30 years, will assume his seat at the November 2016 Board of Directors Meeting, succeeding Kristian Palvia of Skovde, Sweden, as the Europe and Africa Region Representative to the Board.

2016Baseball/Softball reinstated for Tokyo 2020 Olympics
British Baseball and Softball is elated with the announcement by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (OCOG) to reinstate baseball/softball back on to the Olympic programme, following the 129th IOC Session in Rio de Janeiro.

Following discussions about the way in which the parties were operating and being administered, the British Baseball Federation (BBF), British Softball Federation (BSF) and BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) took the decision to carry out a fundamental review of the relationships between the three organisations and to consider the best structure for the sports of baseball and softball.

2015London Mets to host Federation Cup Qualifier at Farnham Park
The Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) has announced the hosts for its 2016 European Cups and Championships, and one of three qualifying tournaments for its Federation Cup will be hosted by the London Mets at Farnham Park, with support from the BBF and BSUK.

2015Baseball and softball to move closer together at world level
The European Baseball Confederation (CEB) and the European Softball Federation (ESF) held their annual Congresses together on 6-7 February in Dublin, and the joint message was that the two sports will be moving closer together around the world.
