Facilities and Field Development
Taking a leading role in enabling the improvement and creation of appropriate local facilities is one of the priorities highlighted in our Two Sports, One Ambition Strategic Plan. As a step towards this and as part of our Development Charter, we have pulled together a range of information and guidance to support any clubs or leagues looking to build or develop, and then maintain the various aspects of a typical UK baseball and softball facility.
We would love to hear from you regarding your club or league’s facility needs, and we have listed below some of the ways we may be able to help you.
Local Authority Liaison
Where relevant, your relationship manager can help you get in touch with your Local Authority or other suitable local organisations who may be able to assist with any planned development. In addition, we can provide you with letters of support for projects you are working on.
Funding
As a part of the Two Sports, One Ambition Strategy, BaseballSoftballUK announced a new Field Development Fund. Further details on what you can apply for & how, will be announced in the coming months, but if you have any questions in the meantime please speak with your relationship manager.
There are also a range of funding opportunities from other organisations which you may apply for to. We can help you identify your best options and provide grant-writing advice and guidance.
Technical Guidance
We have gathered technical specifications on how to build important aspects of your field, along with information on some of the most current builds from our UK local clubs to share as examples. This includes information on:
